MT. VERNON — On Thursday, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests to WMIX News:

65-year-old James Payne of Opdyke was arrested Wednesday for violating sex offender registration.

19-year-old Derek Thompson of Mt. Vernon was arrested Wednesday for criminal sexual assault.

27-year-old Clarissa Drew of Bluford was arrested by Mt. Vernon Police Wednesday for identity theft between $300 and $2,000 and possession of meth less than five grams.
