CENTRALIA — A 38-year-old former housekeeper has been arrested in connection with a February 2017 residential burglary in which jewelry and cash were reportedly stolen.
Lashana Lyons, of Centralia, was arrested by Centralia police during a Tuesday night traffic stop. She had been developed as a suspect in the 2017 burglary and theft of $60,000 worth of jewelry and $500 cash.
According to police, Lyons had been fired as a housekeeper of the Arbor Drive home from where the jewelry and cash had been taken.
Police reportedly received a tip that led them to a jewelry store in the Fairview Heights area where surveillance video showed the missing jewelry had been sold there.
In addition to the burglary charge, Lyons was additionally arrested for possession of methamphetamine after it was allegedly found on her during the arrest.
