The jury trial for an 18-year-old male accused of the January armed robbery of a Nashville gas station, has been scheduled for later this summer.
Jordan Macbeth, of Virginia, appeared in Washington County court Tuesday. During that appearance, it was ruled that his jury trial will begin on August 20, with a status hearing scheduled for August 14th.
Macbeth is charged with Class X felony armed robbery of the Little Nashville BP Gas Station. A Class X felony is punishable by between 6 and 30 years in prison, but an additional 15 years could potentially be added to a sentence if he’s convicted due to the use of a firearm in the commission of the crime.
According to police, a male suspect entered the station at approximately 4 p.m. January 31st and displayed a handgun, before departing the store in a gray 2016 Toyota Corolla, with out-of-state license plates.
Authorities stated that the same man had been seen fueling his vehicle approximately 25 minutes before committing the armed robbery.
Macbeth ultimately turned himself into the Madera County Sheriff’s Office in California on February 10th. He was also wanted at that time on an outstanding warrant for deserting the U.S. Army.
He remains in the Washington County Jail with bail set at $250,000.
