Ben Stuckey, Sr., 89, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 5:20 P.M.June 10, 2018 at his residence.Hewas born July 2, 1928in Yazoo City, Mississippi to the late Louis and Laura Stuckey. Ben married Mildred (Miller) Stuckey on December 25, 1947. They were blessed with 70 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, Ben is survived by his children, Lula Haddox  and husband, Ron, Michael Stuckey and wife, Yevette, Mildred L. Stuckey, LeeDora Stuckey, Antonio Stuckey and wife, Sheila,  and Eric Stuckey and wife, Monique, all of Mount Vernon; 28 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and five on the way; and four great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his children, Lonnie Towners, Ben Stuckey, Jr., John Henry Stuckey, and Alma Stuckey; grandson, Preston Lee Stuckey; and brothers, Clarence Stuckey, Louis Stuckey, Edna Love, Nancy Tabor, and LeeDora Brown.

Ben worked at Vernois Stove Foundry for many years. He was a member and Deacon and Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

A Visitation will be heldSaturday, June 23, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Tim Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
