Lois L.Taylor, 91, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 3:10 P.M.April 21, 2018 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was bornin Marion County, Illinois to Lester and Viola (Alderson) Smith. She married Melvin “Mel” Taylor on June 22, 1946 in Salem Illinois. They were blessed with 68 Years of marriage before he preceded her in death on May 16, 2015.

 Lois is survived by herson, Danny Taylor and wife, Tina of Arlington, Texas; daughter, Cathy Lipe and husband, David of Mount Vernon, Illinois; four grandchildren, Jason Lipe and special friend, Mary of Kell, Illinois, Staci Malone and husband, Mckendal of Waltonville, Illinois; Kristi Taylor of Arizona, and Rachel Bruce and husband, D.J. of Texas; six great grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Darrell Smith.

Lois was a member of The Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Lois will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Visitation: 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
