Icy road conditions played a role in a two-car crash in Saline County Wednesday morning.

Illinois State Police say just after 9, 20-year-old Carson N. Carter of Carmi was driving her car north on College Road, a mile south of Kaid Road, when she lost control of her car on the icy roadway.

Carter’s vehicle slid into the southbound lane and struck another car going south driven by 18-year-old Hannah N. Pettijohn of Norris City.

Following the impact, both vehicles left the roadway and came to rest. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Both drivers were taken by ambulance to an area hospital. No charges were filed.
