Two Saline County men are facing charges after dispatchers received several calls regarding shots being fired in the area of Feazel Street and Longley Street in Harrisburg Sunday afternoon.
Harrisburg Police Chief David Morris says 24-year-old Ramonte S. Scott of Harrisburg is charged with obstructing justice, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and a parole warrant. He remains in the Saline County Jail.
Thirty-one-year-old Rodney D. Weems of Harrisburg is charged with aggravated discharge of a weapon, unlawful use of a weapon by a convicted felon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He remains in the Saline County Jail.
Morris says when officers responded to the call at 1:10 p.m., additional calls were received about two vehicles driving erratic and occupants shooting at each other from the vehicles.
Officers stopped one of the vehicles at the intersection of Poplar Street and Capitol Street, where three occupants were detained for questioning.
Another call to the dispatch center referenced a house in the 1300 block of South Delmar St being hit with a bullet from one of the bullets coming from one of the cars involved.
A firearm was also recovered during the investigation and found to be stolen from Saline County.
Morris says additional charges are pending against both men in this case.
