The second late shotgun deer season starts next weekend across parts of Illinois.
The hunt is designed to help control the deer population in certain areas of the state. DNR Conservation Police Sargent, John Williamson, indicates the areas are chosen after research of deer population and other factors.

The antler-less deer season runs January 12-14.
