Farmers await a new farm bill in 2018, but just how long will they need to wait to see what the US House of Representatives has cooked up for farm and food policy? House Ag Chairman Mike Conaway is on the record for wanting the process to start sooner rather than later but is there a date? Congressman Rodney Davis from Taylorville says he wants the process to get going.

It does look like the House will begin the markup of the bill before the Senate. And work should begin late this winter or early in the spring.
