CLINTON COUNTY — A 32-year-old Troy, Illinois man was sentenced Thursday in Clinton CountyCourt to 8-years in prison after he pleaded guilty in two separate cases to felony theft charges.

Steven J. Herling currently in the Illinois Department of Corrections after he was sentenced in Madison County to 7-years in prison for a series of burglaries committed with his brother Joseph in 2016.
Steven Herling was also sentenced in December 2016 in Washington County Court to 6-years after he pleaded guilty to Class 1 felony unlawful possession of more than 3 stolen vehicles or vehicle parts.
He and his brother Joseph Herling were arrested in August 2016 after the two men had been targeting ATV-type vehicles, lawn equipment, and chainsaws in the three county region.
Herling was sentenced Thursday to 8-years on each of the three counts against him in Clinton County, all to be served concurrently.
