WILLIAMSON COUNTY — Ridership on Rides Mass Transit District buses in Williamson County increased 7.1 percent in the fiscal year which ended July 31.
Over 185,200 riders utilized public transportation throughout Williamson County during that time frame.
Adam Lach, RMTD operations manager, says quote “We appreciate being able to provide the service to the residents in Williamson County. It’s an area that is seeing growth and expansion, and we’re happy to play a part in getting the public to where they want to be.”
Throughout the district, RMTD provided transportation to more than 680,000 riders over the course of the previous fiscal year.
RMTD is the largest rural public transportation district in Illinois covering nearly 18 counties in the southern and east central part of the state. It has served as the public transportation
provider in Williamson County since 2007.
