CARLYLE — A 19-year-old Carlyle man has been sentenced to 12-years in prison after he pleaded guilty Wednesday in Clinton County Court to an amended bill of indictment that charged him with burglary and weapons-related crimes.

Blake Nottmeyer was convicted of Class X felony home invasion causing injury, Class 1 felony residential burglary, Class 3 felony aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon, and Class 4 felony criminal trespass to a residence while a person present. Class X felony charges of armed robbery with a firearm and home invasion with a firearm were dismissed per the plea agreement.

Nottmeyer was sentenced to 7-years on the home invasion conviction, 12 years on the residential burglary conviction, 5-years on the aggravated battery conviction, and 3-years on the criminal trespass conviction – all to be served concurrently.

He was arrested along with 26-year-old Lawrence E. Cooper, who was sentenced in May to 10 years in prison on similar charges related to the same incident.

Nottmeyer has remained in the Clinton County Jail since his November 2016 arrest, with bail set at $100,000.
