(Washington, DC)  —  Illinois’s senior Senator says he gets the sense that Ben Carson cares about the fate of people being moved out of deplorable homes in southern Illinois. Dick Durbin said on Friday that he met with the Housing and Urban Development secretary, and senses that Carson’s concern is ‘genuine.’ HUD is moving about 200 families out of decrepit public housing complexes in Alexander County. Durbin wants to make sure they’re not being mistreated or ignored.
