(SALEM, IL) — Bail has been set at $35,000 for an 18-year-old Centralia woman formally charged Monday in Marion County Court with felony possession of between 15 and 100 grams of cocaine as well as with two counts possession of a controlled substance. Alanna Earle was stopped Sunday night by a sheriff’s deputy near Route 37 and 161 when the vehicle she was driving reportedly drifted into the other lane multiple times. The Salem Police K-9 unit was called to the traffic stop and the dog reportedly alerted on the car. In a search of the vehicle, deputies reportedly located a backpack with a baggie inside that contained 20 grams of a white powdered substance, which field tested positive for cocaine. Two types of pills that are considered controlled substances were reportedly located in Earle’s purse and less than 10 grams of cannabis, along with a drug pipe were found in the center console of the vehicle. Earle was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail. Three passengers in her vehicle were released without charges. Earle was formally charged Monday with Class 1 felony possession of between 15 and 100 grams of cocaine and two counts Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance. She was also issued citations for the cannabis and the drug pipe. She was advised in court of the charges against her and bail was set at $35,000. She is next scheduled in court April 4, for a first appearance with her court appointed attorney.
