LeRoy J. Wiehle, age 90 of Iuka, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Nature Trail Health and Rehab in Mt. Vernon.

LeRoy was born on August 1, 1934 in Salem, Illinois the son of Erwin and Lois (Pickett) Wiehle. He married Stella Altgilbers on August 15, 1957 in Petrolia, Illinois and together they shared 67 years united in marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Stella of Iuka; a daughter from a previous marriage, Cindy Altenbaumer and husband Gary of Centralia; sons, Kevin Wiehle and wife Dana of Tallahassee, Florida, Greg Wiehle and wife Darla of Centralia, and Kent Wiehle and wife Sharon of Iuka; sisters, Peggy Halford and Patricia Timm both of Iuka; grandchildren, Ashley Wiehle-Fram and husband George of Baldwin, Missouri, Cole Wiehle and wife Erica of Iuka, Jacob Wiehle and wife Melissa of Iuka, Carrie Reed and husband Jeremy of Iuka; and great grandchildren, Evie Wiehle, Graceyn Wiehle, Quinn Wiehle, Ava Reed, Jolee Reed, and Harper Reed all of Iuka.

LeRoy was preceded in death by parents, Erwin and Lois Wiehle; sisters, Erwina Blank and Linda Wiehle; and brothers in-law, Earl Blank, Tom Halford, and Alan Timm.

LeRoy honorably served his country in the United States Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict.

He was employed with his family’s trucking company, Erwin Wiehle Trucking, for several years and later worked as farmer and was the owner and operator of LeRoy Wiehle Water Service.

LeRoy was of the Christian Faith and was a faithful member of the Iuka General Baptist Church in Iuka, Illinois.

Funeral Services for LeRoy J. Wiehle will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Iuka General Baptist Church in Iuka with Tracy Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at the Iuka Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with military rites by the Salem American Legion. There will be a visitation held on Friday, March 28th from 5:00 – 7:00p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. Memorial contributions can be made to Mission Salem or the church of the donor’s choice, and will be received at the funeral home or at Iuka General Baptist church the day of the service.
