
Linda Lou Williams, 77, of Kell, passed away at 3:40 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Fireside House in Centralia.
She was born November 13, 1947, in Walnut Hill, Illinois, the daughter of Louie E. and Vera G. (Bates) Shaw. On January 8, 1966, in Centralia, Illinois, she married Gary E. Williams, and he survives in Kell.
Linda was a graduate of Walnut Hill Grade School and Centralia High School. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for over 30 years, and also worked at Reban’s Restaurant, as a cook at Raccoon Grade School, and at the Centralia Sentinel. She enjoyed spending time with friends around the pool, talking, fixing food, and watching them swim, and also enjoyed picking tomatoes and driving her jeep. She always followed the kids’ sports, from Raccoon Grade School through High School, and from cheerleading to track events.
In addition to her husband, Gary Williams of Kell, she is survived by three children, Beth Furlong and husband Brad, Chad Williams, and Kim Telford and husband Warren; three grandchildren, Ashley Paris and husband Casey, Taylor Pennock, and Bailey Hawkins and husband Ethan; three great-grandsons, Jude Pennock, Teagan Paris, and Sawyer Pennock; sister-in-law, Karla Shaw; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Larry Shaw, Warren Don Shaw, and infant brother Neil Shaw.
Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be held at noon on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with John Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Grove Cemetery in Kell. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
