
Georgia Mae Wangler, 91, of Belle Rive, Illinois, went to her Heavenly Home at 1:50 am on February 2, 2025 at Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, IL. She was born March 22, 1933 to the late Clyde and Ruby Buck. Georgia married Harold Wangler on June 3, 1951, in O’Fallon. They were blessed with 40 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on November 12, 1991.
Georgia is survived by her children Gary (Kay) Wangler of Sesser, Jeanie (Steve) Hamson of Belle Rive, Loran (Vanessa) Wangler of Elk Grove Village and Frank (Jeanette) Wangler of Salem; grandchildren Audra (David) Bates, Eric (Holly) Wangler, Jeremy (Dawn) Hamson, Josh (Amy) Hamson, Jacob (Cara) Hamson, Jordan (Dylana) Hamson, Vicki (Shaun) DuFault, Kristi (Brett) Etheridge, Jennifer (Nathan) Meyers, Shannon (Amber) Wangler, Dustin (Heather) Wangler, Sarah Robb, Denise (Rod Stover) Neal, and Daniel Pribble; 35 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren and one on the way; twin brother Ted Buck, brother Frank (Pat) Buck and sister Sue (Allen) Bottom, brother in law Neal (Gloria) Wangler and several nieces and nephews.
Georgia spent all of her life using her God-given talents to serve the Lord. She was a member of the Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church. She was known to many as an extraordinary pianist, singer, Southern Gospel music fan, wedding cake baker, school (OBR) cook, seamstress, quilter, faithful and loving spouse, mother, grandmother, and friend. Georgia loved her family tremendously and will be greatly missed.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 5:00 pm- 8:00 pm and the Funeral service will be on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 11:00 am both at the Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, IL with the Reverends Steve and Jeremy Hamson officiating. Burial will follow at the Smith Cemetery in Belle Rive, IL. Memorials may be made to the Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church.
