According to Sheriff Kyle Bacon, the deputy soon pulled into the gas station and began speaking with the two involved subjects. During their conversation, and after explaining what he saw, one of the subjects, identified as 26-year-old Dakota A. Boyd, said he was in possession of methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe.

As a result, Boyd was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was taken to and lodged in the Franklin County Jail.

At the time of his arrest, Boyd was on electronic monitoring for another pending case in Franklin County.
