MARION – There seems to be a shortage of IV fluids impacting health systems across the country due to the recent damage from Hurricane Helene. This has affected Deaconess Illinois.

Deaconess officials posted on Facebook Monday that in response to this shortage, they will be putting proactive conservation efforts aligned with best clinical practices in place. These efforts will allow Deaconess Illinois to continue offering the highest level of patient care while maintaining supplies for incoming patients.

Deaconess Illinois wants to assure their patients and their families that they are closely monitoring the situation and working diligently with their suppliers to secure necessary IV products.

Skilled staff and providers are trained to handle these challenges and continue to provide the highest level of patient care with no disruptions at this time.

Deaconess Illinois will provide updates if this situation changes.
