Opal Lee Jones (Stauffer), 86, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 9:16 P.M. due to Parkinson’s disease. She was born on November 12, 1937 in Buena Vista, Colorado to Ethel & Virgil Stauffer.

She married Harvey E. Jones on June 16, 1954 in Buena Vista, Colorado. They have had a long happy marriage of 70 years, residing in Bonnie, IL. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting.

Opal is survived by her husband, Harvey (Dick) Jones, six children, Larry and Carmen Jones of Waltonville, IL, Debbie and Dennis McClellan of Scheller, IL, Patricia and Michael Kash of Belle Rive, IL, Paula Clark of Belle Rive, IL, Richard and Jennifer Jones of Waltonville, IL, and Steven and Heather Jones of Waltonville, IL; Brothers and Sister, Ronnie Stauffer of Buena Vista, CO, Clay and Judy Stauffer of Buena Vista, CO, Walter Stauffer of Buena Vista, CO, and Carolyn Patterson of Elko, NV; Fourteen grandchildren, Brandon and Renah Jones, Blake and Jean Jones, Ben and Brooke Jones, Nicole and Richie Jude, Cameron and Sammy McClellan, Kyle and Tiffany Kluck, Kole and Sarah Kluck, Jarrod Kash and Lexy Pedtke, Amy and Kent Gregory, Shelbi Clark and Chris Parsons, Winston Jones and Jacey House, Sidney Kujawa, Ethan and Mollie Jones and Mackenzie Jones; Twenty-one Great-Grandchildren; Maliya, Troy, Cora, Zachary, Emily, Dylan, Collins, Caysen, Ashlyn, Raelyn, Jacob, Lily, Ryker, Rook, Casper, Rexton, Paislee, and Piper, Jacob, Gauge, Kale.

Opal is preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Virgil Stauffer, sisters; Virginia Stewart, Mildred Ziolkowski, and Iona Barrett, brothers; Johnny Stauffer and Edward Stauffer.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, October 4th at the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Tim Reynolds officiating. Visitation for close friends & family will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday at the cemetery.
