BENTON – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Thursday morning received an anonymous tip via the mobile app about a scam.

Sheriff Kyle Bacon says the sender said that a black Cadillac arrived at their home and someone informed them that they were collecting donations for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff says they were not provided with any further information and have only received this single report. If this in fact occurred, the sheriff says it is a scam and urges anyone that has contact with this person or persons to contact the sheriff’s office immediately.
