Jeffrey Scott King of Centralia, Illinois passed away peacefully at 1:20 am on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at BJC Christian Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
A multi-talented artist, musician, and vocalist, Jeffrey was known for his creativity and passion for music having composed his own album titled ‘Euphoria Woman’ and performed with numerous bands throughout his lifetime including the ‘Little Berry Jam Band’, ‘Nighthawk’, ‘Monkey Puzzle’, ‘Eclipse’, and ‘Echo’, among others. He was an avid collector of all things music and media. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Jefferey cherished his roles as a loving husband, devoted father, beloved son, supportive brother, and cherished friend. His spirit and talents touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Jan King, daughter, Monica (King) Backs (Keith), sons Ian King (Brandy), Adam King, Step-sons Cory Waterbury (Jamie), Chad Qualls (Anna). Grandchildren Alyssa Frakes, Landon Backs, Kaden King, Jordan King, Evan King, Fiona King, Jasmine King, Sebastian King, Mason Qualls, and Makenzie Qualls. Sisters Kelly Duncan (Tim), Tara Reynolds, Brothers Kevin King (Nina), and Alan Roper (Marie).
Preceded in death by his parents Theresa Hardin and Barry King, Sister Deb Downham, and Grandson Adler Waterbury.
Per Jeffrey’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held at this time.
