JEFFERSON COUNTY — An 18-year-old Mt. Vernon man was sentenced Tuesday in Jefferson County Court to more than three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after he pleaded guilty to two of the five felony charges against him.
Dreydyn Hart was charged in Jefferson County Court with Class 2 felony possession of a stolen firearm, Class 3 felony possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card, and Class 4 felonies for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon as a minor.
Hart pleaded guilty Tuesday to the Class 3 felony possession of a firearm without a valid FOID and Class 4 felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in exchange for the other three charges being dismissed.
Hart was arrested in February when Mt. Vernon police officers found him in possession of a loaded firearm when they responded to a report of a fight at DeeBee’s Bar.
