CENTRALIA — Randy J. Davis, 71, of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

He was born May 19, 1952, in Centralia, the son of J.W. “Red” Davis and Bertha Winifred “Winnie” (Delaney) Davis. He married his high school sweetheart, Brenda Tate, on September 22, 1972, and she survives.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, Brenda Davis of Centralia, Randy is also survived by his two children: Shawn Davis and Kristen Powe of Walnut Hill and Kelly Davis of Centralia, three grandchildren: Hayden, Breanna, and Aizen, a mother-in-law: Mary Tate of Centralia; sisters-in-law: Helena Davis, Linda and husband Larry, and Stephanie and husband Stephen all of Centralia; two nieces and a nephew: Carlena Mitcham and husband Fred of Centralia, Vickey Polluck of Odin, and Wesley Davis and wife Sandy of Centralia, an uncle: Paul Davis and wife Phyllis of Odin, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Terry Davis, a niece: Rebecca Davis Vaira, several aunts and uncles.

Randy owned and operated Davis Heating and Cooling for 50 years until his retirement in 2021. He had a passion for motorcycles and always enjoyed a little wind therapy. Randy was very particular with his yard and home, he would always make sure everything was in tip top shape. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s Fan. Randy was a very devoted husband, dad, and grandpa. His family was his world and he treasured the memories that he made during his life.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Alan Nollman officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
