MOUNT VERNON — A Mt. Vernon restaurant will permanently close its doors at the end of the month after more than a dozen years of serving the community.
According to their Facebook page, Agave Mexican Restaurant, at 300 South 44th Street will officially close its doors on Sunday, March 31st, and will serve its last customers on Saturday, March 30.
The post says, “Due to current situations, including but not limited to the significant lease increase, payroll increases, and general food cost increases and an oversaturated market, the Minquiz family have decided to bring a 13-year story to an end,” the statement reads. “We wish to take a chance on making fresh starts, creating new concepts, and spending more of our valuable time focused on our precious family.”
The family-owned and operated business will maintain its normal business hours until the 31st.
