MARION COUNTY — A 32-year-old rural Iuka man will spend every other weekend in the Marion County Jail as part of his sentence after he pleaded guilty to two of 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

Jonathan Wuehler was arrested in April of 2022 and charged in Marion County Court with two Class 2 felonies and eight Class 3 felonies accusing him of possessing child pornography.

Wuehler filed an open plea of guilty last December two one Class 2 and one Class 3 charge in exchange for the eight others being dismissed. He was sentenced Wednesday to 120 days of periodic imprisonment that can be served on alternating weekends, and four years probation, and was ordered to pay $2,000 in fines and fees. Day-for-day good time will not be applied.

The prosecution was seeking 10 years in prison on the two charges, while the defense pushed for probation.
