MARION COUNTY — A Marion County jury is set to be selected today in the murder trial of a 30-year-old woman accused of the 2021 shooting death of her live-in boyfriend.
Christina Bartley was arrested more than a year after shooting 31-year-old Wesley Bivens in the home they shared in Salem.
While she’s pleaded not guilty to the first-degree murder charge against her, Withers Broadcasting archives show she called 911 around 6:30 p.m. the evening of Thursday, April 15, 2021, to report her boyfriend was coming at her, and trying to hit her so she shot him.
He was found dead and on his back in the hallway of the home, with a large pool of blood behind his head and his hands on his chest. A bullet casing was found to the right of his body and another next to the bed that was also to his right.
The trial is expected to last five days.
