MOUNT VERNON — A 45-year-old Bluford man was arrested early Monday morning in Mt. Vernon when Mt. Vernon police responded to a report of a man threatening to kick in the door of a home in the 900 block of South 25th.
According to Police Chief Trent Page, upon officers’ arrival on the scene, they located David L Puckett in the backyard of the residence.
Page says while officers were investigating the incident, Puckett began to obstruct the investigation. When attempting to take Puckett into custody he began to resist the officer’s attempts to secure him.
Puckett was taken into custody and determined to be in possession of a loaded firearm.
Puckett was transported to the Jefferson County Justice Center on charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Drug Equipment, and Armed Habitual Criminal. Puckett was held with no bond pending a court appearance.
