fog

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — Dense fog may linger in the listening area until around 6 o’clock tonight, despite earlier predictions it would leave by noon.

According to the National Weather Service, rain moving into the region should help visibility improve to greater than 1/4 mile in most locations. However, a few areas may continue to experience low visibility, so motorists should be prepared.

This fog system first moved into the area Tuesday, and the Weather Service says they are monitoring the possibility of additional dense fog developing across the region tonight and overnight.
