SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for most of our listening area, with possible impacts throughout our listening area due to the possibility of freezing rain.

The weather service says the advisory will run from 3 a.m. to 9 p.m., with ice accumulation of around one-tenth of an inch anticipated.

Difficult travel conditions are possible and could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.

The weather service says to slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages.
