CENTRALIA — David Joe Sanders, 72, of Centralia, was born on December 26, 1951 to Vern and Virginia Sanders and peacefully passed away on January 18, 2024 at his home.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home with Rev. James Hennig officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia.

He is leaving memories behind with his brother Mike and Glenda Sanders, nephews Gregg Sanders, Marlin and Cami Starr, Tim and Kim Starr, niece Cindy and Ronnie Martin, several great nephews and nieces, and cousins Patty and George Hinton, Gary Joe and Janet Sanders, and Chuck and Becky Peyton .
David was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church of Centralia, retired from Kaskaskia Workshop with 50 years of service doing custodial work at Colonial apartments, Diamondview and Park Place. David was an Orphan ticket holder for over 65 years, loved the St Louis Cardinals and enjoyed fishing and camping. He was full of happiness, joy, and a blessing to many.
