JEFFERSON COUNTY — Jefferson County officials are reminding pet owners that extreme winter weather is expected starting Friday and the predicted temperatures will be capable of killing outdoor pets.
They ask owners to take proper precautions for their animals. Dogs must have a dog house with 3 walls and a floor. Dog houses must also have adequate straw.
They warn that any animals found outdoors without proper accommodations will be immediately impounded and there will be a fee to re-claim your animal.
A wind advisory is in effect for our entire listening area from 6 a.m. Friday until midnight Saturday.
