CENTRALIA — Recent tobacco compliance checks conducted in Centralia resulted in 100 percent compliance.

According to the Centralia Police Department, on Wednesday they conducted tobacco compliance checks on 13 local retailers where they had an individual not of legal age attempt to purchase vape or tobacco products.

The selection of retailers was based on establishments offering tobacco/vape products for sale and/or those with a recent violation. All 13 retailers requested identification and no sales were made.

The Centralia Police Department reminds everyone that the legal age to purchase tobacco products and vape products that contain Nicotine is 21 years of age.
