CLINTON COUNTY — A Clinton County teen has reportedly confessed to making a threat Wednesday to commit violence at Wesclin High School.
According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, around 6:30 Wednesday morning, the school administration notified them of a threat made to the high school.
The sheriff’s department says the school administration chose to close the high school, and out of caution, deputies were posted at the middle school.
An investigation into the threat was immediately launched and search warrants were obtained.
Evidence secured in those searches reportedly led to multiple subjects being interviewed.
One of those subjects, who was accompanied by a parent, reportedly confessed to making the threats to Wesclin High School.
The juvenile suspect was released to their parent’s custody after it was determined they didn’t have the means to follow through with the threat.
Clinton County State’s Attorney J.D. Brandmeyer will receive the report on this incident for review.
School resumed this morning.
