MOUNT VERNON — The Mt. Vernon Police Department is offering a $500 cash reward for information leading to the identification of a specific our-wheeler driver.
According to MVPD, over the last two weeks, a subject on a four-wheeler has been operating recklessly on the streets of Mt Vernon and causing damage to property at schools, businesses, and government buildings.
The person has operated the four-wheeler at a high speed, and in a reckless manner in Veterans Park with people in the area and around events where children were present.
Additionally, the operator of the four-wheeler is traveling at high rates of speed on major roadways and disobeying traffic control devices. When confronted by law enforcement the operator flees.
Police are seeking public input in an attempt and identify the operator of the four-wheeler.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mt Vernon Police Department at 618-242-2131. Information leading to the identification of the person is eligible for a $500 reward.
