Update: Unconfirmed reports are indicating a Centralia police officer was stabbed and fired at the subject, who has reportedly died. The officer has been treated and is reportedly stable.

CENTRALIA — Centralia police are investigating a late Tuesday morning shooting on the city’s southeast side.

ESDA has been brought in to block Calumet between Nancy and Oakdale as police continue to investigate the incident that apparently resulted in one person being struck by the gunfire.

EMS responded to the scene where Centralia police officers reportedly were already performing CPR on the victim. Their identity and condition are unclear at this time.
