MARION COUNTY — A 30-year-old man was sentenced to prison Thursday after he pleaded guilty in Marion County Court to armed robbery.

Brandon Wagner was sentenced Thursday eight years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a Class X felony charge of armed robbery. A second charge of Class 1 felony aggravated robbery was dismissed per the plea agreement.

Salem police arrested Wagner in January after he held up the Spirit Shoppe.

Chief Kyle Ambuehl reported at the time that a car believed used in the robbery was registered to Wagner’s mother. It was ultimately located at his residence and the large kitchen knife used in the robbery was located in the vehicle.

None of the money taken during the robbery was recovered. Wagner will be placed on 18 months of mandatory supervised release once out of prison.
