MOUNT VERNON — Daniel Dale Mulch, 91, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023, at his home.

He was born December 29, 1931, in Mt. Vernon, the son of George Amos and Mary Armilda (Simmons) Mulch.  On July 4, 1949, at his parent’s home in Mt. Vernon, he married Darlene Mae Wilson, and she survives him in Mt. Vernon.

He attended Harlow School and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.  He served in the United States Army, attaining the rank of PFC.  He enjoyed farming, car restoration, Allis-Chalmers tractors, riding his golf cart, and spending time with friends and neighbors.

In addition to his wife, Darlene Mulch, he is survived by two daughters, Kathie Dodson and husband Larry of Kell, Illinois, and Donna Mellott and husband Billy of Woodlawn, Illinois; grandchildren, Blake Mellott, Christopher Mellott, Justin Mulch and wife Lynne, Mark Dodson and wife Stephanie, and Lorie Ullery and husband Josh; great-grandchildren, Joel Mellott, Lainey Mulch, Jentry Mulch, Brayden Aaron, Raeghyn Dodson, Alexandria Dodson, Adrieaunna Dodson, Annaleigh Dodson, Trygg Aaron, and Hailee Ullery; and two sisters, Dixie Stonecipher and Sarah Prather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Mulch, and son, Roger Mulch.

Funeral services for Mr. Mulch will be held at noon, Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.  Burial will follow at East Salem Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service, at the funeral home.  Memorial gifts may be made to East Salem Cemetery and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
