MOUNT VERNON — Linda Kay Baltzell, 78, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 5:35 pm July 22, 2023 at her residence. She was born January 15, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Harry and Velma (Childers) Axe. Linda married Donald “Fritz” Baltzell on July 27, 2007.

In addition to her beloved husband of sixteen years, Linda is survived by her son, Brian Hobson of Mount Vernon, Illinois; three step children; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel Axe; and sister-in-law, Janice Strain.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by brother, David Axe.

A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Father Steve Pautler. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Linda’s honor to Jefferson County Animal Shelter.
