MCLEANSBORO, Ill. — Lucille (Bruce) Watt, 87, of McLeansboro, IL was called to rest on July 18, 2023.  Lucille (Bruce) Watt was born in Eldorado, IL on September 20, 1935. She was the first child to the union of Eddy and Pauline Bruce who preceded her in death.

In May 1954, she was united in holy matrimony to Leonard Albert Watt, Sr.  To this union, nine children were raised: Leonard Albert Watt Jr., Darrell Ray Watt, Steven Watt, Debbie (Watt) Dale, Greg Watt, Barbera Leverenze, John Leverenze, Ann (Watt) Triplett, and Jennifer Dawn (Watt) Dockery.

Lucille accepted Christ at an early age. She later moved to Summit, IL where she supported the Lyons Township High School girls swim team. Lucille loved to care for her children, shop, collect Knick knacks, painting, and watch movies and the Hallmark Channel. Lucille retired from Lyons Township High School and returned to her hometown area where she lived out the rest of her days.  She was a very caring person and was always helping others.  She was a foster parent to many children over the years, and adopted 2 children.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her only sibling Judith Gaylord (Terry) of Springville, TN; son Leonard Watt Jr. (Carol) of McLeansboro, IL; daughter Debbie Dale (Larry) of Chicago, IL, son Greg Watt (Carol) of Braidwood, IL, daughter Ann Triplett (Jeff) of Plainfield, IL, daughter Jennifer Dockery (Reggie) of McLeansboro, IL; 24 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, and a host of other friends.

Funeral services for Lucille (Bruce) Watt will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Pastor Jacob Gray officiating.  Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the funeral ceremony at Hebron Cemetery in Walpole, IL.
