FAYETTE COUNTY — A former Patoka pastor was advised in court Wednesday that he has just a few days to consider the prosecution’s agreement offer in a Fayette County case accusing him of being part of a child pornography ring.

Ferrell Kissiar was arrested and charged in 2021 with two Class X felonies for possession of child pornography depicting a child under the age of 13, two Class 1 felony counts of dissemination of child pornography, one Class 2 felony count of possession of child pornography depicting a victim under the age of 13, and one Class 3 felony for possession of child pornography.

A Vandalia couple, Andrew and Amber Wehrle pleaded guilty last month to their roles in the pornography ring.

Andrew Wehrle was sentenced to 26 years in prison, while Amber Wehrle was sentenced to 13 years in prison.

The three cases were ultimately joined together and were slated to be tried together by a Fayette County jury in June, but the Wehrles pleaded guilty and Kissiar pushed forward toward a jury trial.

He has until July 5 to consider a plea agreement offer in his case before prosecutors remove the deal from the table.

A status hearing in the case is scheduled for July 7 when a possible jury trial waiver could be considered.

At this time, however, Kissiar’s case remains set for a July 17 jury trial.
