JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 21-year-old Texico man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty last week in Jefferson County Court to charges connected to the stabbing of his father-in-law.
Kenny Ray Snow was arrested late the evening of April 14, for allegedly stabbing 41-year-old Joshua E. Marshall at Marshall’s home on North Snapdragon Lane where they both lived.
While Marshall was transported to Crossroads Hospital before being airlifted to another hospital by Air Evac, Snow had left the home. He was ultimately found walking on IL Hwy 37 near the intersection with Beal Rd. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
He was ultimately charged in Jefferson County Court with two Class X felony counts of armed violence, multiple Class 3 felony counts of aggravated battery, and one count of Class 4 felony criminal damage to property.
Snow was scheduled for a Tuesday pretrial hearing in the case, but instead pleaded guilty last week to two of the Class 3 felony charges of aggravated battery and was sentenced to 5 years in prison on each count to be served consecutively. He must also pay his former father-in-law more than $3,400 in restitution.
