CARBONDALE — A Carbondale man is facing charges in a recent kidnapping investigation.

According to Carbondale Police, officers responded to the 200 block of North Wall Street just before 4 Thursday afternoon regarding a kidnapping that had just occurred.

Officers learned that a juvenile female was taken from the scene against her will by a male acquaintance identified as 18-year-old Chrishon A. Sawyer Carbondale. A large police presence was in the 200 block of South Dixon during the investigation.

The victim was eventually recovered about one hour after the initial report. She suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

Sawyer was subsequently arrested and charged with Kidnapping, Domestic Battery, and Unlawful Restraint. He was transported to the Jackson County Jail.

Carbondale Police continue to investigate.
