CENTRALIA — Shirley Philyaw, 80, of Centralia, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.

She was born October 10, 1942 in Waukegan, Illinois, the daughter of Harry Edward Eca and Dorothy (Woods) Eca. She married Everett Leroy Philyaw and they later divorced.

Shirley is survived by her son: Chuck Philyaw and husband James of Eugene, Oregon; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother: Edward Eca and wife Marilyn of Grayslake, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; and special cousin: Mary Martin of Centralia.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Harry and Dorothy Eca, husband: Everett Philyaw, son: Timothy Philyaw, two sisters: Joyce and Betty, and a brother: Kenneth.
Shirley worked as a kitchen worker for 40 years. She was a homemaker and she enjoyed crocheting.
