Gerald Eugene Hutton, 88, of Iuka, passed away at 4:50 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2023, at Odin Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, in Odin.

            He was born March 7, 1935, in Jasper County, Illinois, the son of Fred Eugene and Ella Ester (Berry) Hutton.  On June 1, 1963, in Springfield, Illinois, he married Dorothy Simmons, and she survives.

            In addition to his wife, Dorothy Hutton, he is survived by three sons, David Hutton of Iuka, Steven Hutton of Gradstone, Missouri, and John Hutton, currently serving in the United States Army, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and one grandson, Joshua Hutton.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Hutton; and sister, Deloris Blackmore.

            Gerald was a Veteran of the United States Navy, and was a member of Donoho Prairie Christian Church, where he served as Elder.  He worked for many years as an engineer for Illinois Bell Telephone Company.

            Funeral Services for Mr. Hutton will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Donoho Prairie Christian Church Family Life Center, with Matt Renaud officiating.  Interment will follow at Donoho Prairie Cemetery, with graveside military rites accorded by the United States Navy.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023, at the Donoho Prairie Christian Church Family Life Center.  Memorials may be made to Donoho Prairie Christian Church, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
