CENTRALIA — Illinois State Police is investigating a triple shooting at a neighborhood park Monday night in Centralia that saw two victims being airlifted for treatment of gunshot wounds.
According to Centralia Police, around 6:09 p.m., Monday, they received several calls of a shooting at Laura Leake Park with a victim on scene.
CPD Officers, Centralia Fire and Lifestar ambulance were dispatched. CPD officers were the first to arrive on the scene and began giving immediate first aid to one victim.
They determined there was a second victim who was transported by private vehicle to SSM Health St Mary’s Hospital. A third victim was identified but refused medical treatment.
