John Robert Jacobsen, 35, of Woodlawn, Illinois, passed away at 6:16 pm on January 25, 2023 at his residence in Woodlawn.

He was born in Mount Vernon to Robert and Lynn (Simmons) Jacobsen.

In addition to his parents, John is survived by his brothers, Clint Taylor and wife, Kelley of Mount Vernon and Andrew Jacobsen and wife, Amanda of Arnold, Missouri; one nephew, Tucker Taylor of Mount Vernon; two nieces, Taytum Taylor of Mount Vernon and Delaney Jacobsen of Arnold, Missouri; aunts and uncles, Carol Jacobsen, Holly Marks and husband, Scott, Tracy Gambill and husband, Robin and Bruce Simmons and wife, Tina. John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Dorothy Simmons, John and Shirley Jacobsen and step grandmother, Rozanne Jacobsen. John was a videographer and owned and operated JJ Cinema. John was an avid bicyclist. He will be deeply missed.
