CENTRALIA — Ted “Tanner” Cosgrove, 66, of Centralia passed away on January 13, 2023, at his home.
He was born on January 15, 1956, in Patuxent River, Maryland to Arthur and Evelyn (Gagne) Cosgrove, who preceded him in death. He married Judith “Judie” Condra on November 20, 1982, and they have been married for 40 years.
In addition to his wife: Judie Cosgrove of Centralia, he is also survived by his sons; Jake Cosgrove and Jaianna Grant of Cape Coral, FL, Paul Cosgrove of South St. Louis, and Luke Cosgrove of Centralia; sister-in-law Jan Deakins of Brazil, Indiana and 2 nieces: Corrie Bird and Mandy Bowers; brother Michael and Dona Cosgrove of Georgia with niece Kimberly Cosgrove and 4 great nephews, and nephew Shawn Cosgrove and wife Genille, and daughter Michaela; sister Kim and Alan Solomon of Washington D.C.; Andie Cosgrove, Jordan Cosgrove, Zach Cosgrove, and Mattie Cosgrove.
Ted worked at WJBD radio station for 42 years and was known for his outstanding sense of humor. He had a black belt in karate and ran a school teaching karate part-time. Ted was a devoted father, coaching his sons sports in their youth, and spending time golfing with them. He even built model planes in his spare time. He enjoyed nature, liked to take hikes, and loved the ocean and tropical fish. He was an avid Cubs and Washington Redskins (Commanders) fan.
A visitation for Ted will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2023, with a service to follow at 6:30 p.m. at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia.
