Jule Ann Martin, 89, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 3:38 pm November 18, 2022 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.

She was born June 21, 1933 in Titusville, Pennsylvania to the late James Daniel and Ann (Rudasill) Murphy. Jule married Paul A. Martin on April 1, 1974 in Athens, Georgia. They were blessed with 48 years of marriage. In addition to her beloved husband, Jule is survived by her children, Ellan Swartz of Manitou, Kentucky, James M. Swartz of Salt Lake City, Utah, Melissa Bishop and husband, Shane of Trenton, Illinois, and Paul A. Martin and wife, Kris of Pinckeyville, Illinois; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Jule was preceded in death by her brother, James Daniel Murphy, Jr. Jule was a faithful member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Jule will be deeply missed by all who knew and adored her.

A Greeting of Family and Friends will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Trinity Episcopal Church Parrish Center. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am at Trinity Episcopal Church with Reverend Bill Howard officiating. Inurnment will take place at Oconee Hill Cemetery in Athens, Georgia at a later date.
