Carolyn Sue Scott, 81, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at  November 2, 2022 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor. She was born June 11, 1941 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Leslie T. and Lottie A. (White) McGehee. Carolyn married Donald Joseph Scott on January 22, 1958 in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

In addition to her beloved husband of sixty-four years, Carolyn is survived by her children, Deborah Winkler and husband, James of Georgetown, Kentucky, Brian Scott and wife, Lisa of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Rachel Mulley and husband, Jimmy of Georgetown, Kentucky, Jimmy Winkler and wife, Cassie of Georgetown, Kentucky, Sarah Scott White and husband, Michael of Smyrna, Tennessee; and eight great-grandsons.

Carolyn was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church. She worked as an LPN for the Murray Center in Centralia, Illinois and retired after twenty-two years.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 at 10:30 am at East Salem Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Richard McCormick officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Carolyn’s honor to Park Avenue Food Pantry.
